Prospects Across Scotland have created and printed a beautiful, high-quality 50-page booklet to help offer emotional and spiritual support to people with learning disabilities during times of loss. It is called ‘Has Someone You Loved Died?’ and includes practical information about death, understanding emotional and physical responses to grief. Scripture and prayers are woven throughout, along with advice for those supporting. It can be personalised with drawings, writing or pictures.

You can get hold of a printed copy by emailing hilary.lacroix@prospectsacrossscotland.org.uk with your name and address. We would ask for a minimum donation of £3.00 to cover P&P. We had funding to get 100 copies printed and we are really keen to get them into the hands of people with learning disabilities experiencing loss and bereavement.

You can also download the booklet from our website here: https://www.prospectsacrossscotland.org.uk/sdm_downloads/bereavement-booklet-2/

although if you are giving it to someone experiencing loss, we suggest strongly that you print in colour on good quality paper or card, and put it in an attractive binder.

We are also running a short, free session online on Monday 16th June 7.30-8.30 pm, to accompany the booklet and give a few suggestions about how to approach this difficult subject using clear communication, visuals and prayer in this. Suitable for families, carers, friends, church leaders and professionals. There will be time to see inside the booklet and for questions/observations.
